Other Details to Note

We sit at 8,500 feet in elevation. Please note that the cabin does not have A/C. The days stay fairly cool, even in the summer, and temperatures drop at night - open up a window and enjoy the mountain breeze! The cabin is accessible year round, but the last couple miles are via dirt roads that are well maintained by the county and plowed after snow. Please make sure you are travelling in an appropriate vehicle, especially in the winter. AWD/4WD is highly encouraged. There is plenty of parking and we can also accommodate an RV on the property. PET FRIENDLY: This is a pet-friendly listing for up to two pets. Pets do stay free at our cabin. All dogs must remain leashed - our neighbors have chickens and goats and there is a leash law in Teller County! Please be sure to clean up after your pet outside and try your best to not allow them on furniture.

Maximum occupancy is four guests due to septic capacity. - Water is provided via a cistern which means it is not unlimited. Please conserve water! The tank is refilled every 10 days so you may see someone on the property if it is during your stay - they will NOT need access to the inside of the property. - No smoking or fires other than propane fire pit use. We want to protect the environment and all those living in it from wildfires. Evidence of smoking and/or fires will result in a $250 fee. - To avoid unwanted visitors, we prefer that you take trash with you at the end of your stay. Weekly trash service comes on Mondays so the trash must be out at prior to 7am. No parties are allowed. - Up to two pets allowed; they stay for free at our cabin. Pets must be leashed at all times per Teller County's leash law, for their safety, and for the safety of neighbor's goats and chickens. Please clean up after your pet, to include waste, and do not allow them on furniture. An additional $100 fee may occur if guests do not clean up after their pet. - Do not feed wildlife. - Pellet stove use: The pellet stove is a wood-burning stove that takes some time to cool down after use. You may hear crackling while using or while it cools down, this is normal. Please do not use the fire extinguisher on the pellet stove, doing so will result in a $250 fee. - Weather: Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable (especially in the winter and spring). We do not offer refunds for weather-related interruptions, but we do offer travel insurance to protect your trip upon booking.

Wonderful cabin in Florissant. The 5 minute drive to Florissant Fossil Beds can't be beat. And the star watching from the front deck was spectacular. House itself was cozy and cute. Overall, would definitely recommend!
